This is the village of ninjas.

The foothills of Koga in Omi Province (Shiga Prefecture) are known as the birthplace of the ninja. This is also a mountain village south of Lake Biwa, surrounded by the rich nature of the Suzuka mountain range. The harsh winter cold and abundant natural water have fostered sake brewing. Since 1869, Seko Sake Brewery has been brewing sake using local rice and pure rice sake.

“Sake brewing with a focus on local rice and pure rice sake”

Koga, located south of Lake Biwa, was once at the bottom of the lake in ancient times, and is blessed with clayey soil known locally as “zurinko.” This has allowed it to produce high-quality rice since ancient times, and it is known as a rice-producing region in the Kansai region. In addition, the area is blessed with underground water from the Suzuka Mountains, making it an ideal place for sake brewing. Please enjoy the traditional flavors made using techniques handed down since ancient times.
